PUBLICATION FEE & FEE WAIVER

Following your article acceptance confirmation for publication, you will be required to pay an equivalent of USD.80 in article processing fee.

Where a Journal volume or issue is supported by a donor, article processing fees will be waived.

PEER REVIEW POLICY

All paper submissions are subjected to the double anonymous peer review process.

All articles published by the African Women Studies Centre are subject to an objective and rigorous peer-review, double-blind process. The articles are vetted against the aim and scope of the journal and the running theme of the call for papers in compliance with the journal’s publication/editorial criteria.

The manuscript of accepted articles then undergones further quality control by a scholar who goes through its totality and checks for coherence; faithfulness to the topic; contribution to knowledge on the subject matter; and any issues related to the theoretical, methodological, philosophical, or ideological approaches.

Those that fit into the call, are sent 2/3 selected reviewers for peer review using the prescribed information template in addition to their written observations. The reviewers’ comments inform the editor’s decision on the submitted articles in addition to helping the authors revise their papers for acceptability. With respect to the rejected articles, the reviewer's comments highlight the weaknesses to help the authors rework their paper for resubmission to the journal or elsewhere in the future.

Peer reviewers adhere to the principles of COPE's Ethical Guidelines for Peer-reviewers.

Duration: The number of weeks between article submission and publishing averages 24 weeks.

REPOSITORY POLICY

Authors are advised to refrain from posting manuscripts before they are published in institutional repositories, or websites, i.e. before and during the submission process. They may, however, post the publisher’s final PDF version without embargo after its publication.

Attribution should always be given to Pathways to African Feminism and Development: Journal of the African Women Studies Centre as the original publisher and source. Accurate citation details should be given when posting, reusing, transforming, or distributing published articles elsewhere.
