Abstract

The Centre for Human Rights & Peace (CHRP) is domiciled in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies to specifically offer graduate studies in Human Rights using an interdisciplinary approach. To achieve this aim, the CHRP has collaborated and set up links with local and international partners since its inception in 2009. Locally, the Memorandum of Association (MoU) with the Kenya National   Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) signed on 17th July 2014 has been the most robust. This partnership has provided both the CHRP and KNCHR with platforms to explore existing and emerging areas of collaboration including human rights education, research, exchange of human rights information and data, internships and the hosting of guest lectures.
